Questions an assessment may address
- How was the statement obtained?
- What may affect recall or its expression?
- Do the methods used support the previous report’s conclusions?
How we approach this matter
We review available interviews, recordings and accounts, considering questioning, context, elapsed time and possible influences. With children, developmental factors and earlier interviews are considered. The assessment explains which inferences the information supports and where limits remain.
What the report provides
An explanation of the psychological and methodological conditions surrounding testimony and the reasoning of any associated expert opinion.
Useful material for the initial review
- Available complete recordings and transcripts.
- Timeline of interviews and statements.
- Previous reports and the materials they relied on.
A brief description is enough for the first contact. Document sharing is arranged afterwards.
A common question
Is this a lie detector?
No. Psychological testimony analysis cannot infallibly establish whether someone is telling the truth or replace the court’s assessment of all the evidence.
